Key Won't Turn in the Lock or Ignition?
Won't budge no matter how you wiggle it - this is a common, fixable problem.
When a key won't turn, it's usually one of two things: the key itself is worn down from years of use, or something inside the lock cylinder - dirt, a worn pin, a bent component - is blocking it from rotating.
A few quick things worth noticing before we arrive:
The large majority of “key won't turn” situations are fixed on the spot, either by cutting a fresh key or servicing the lock cylinder in place.
Usually not - a worn key or a cylinder that needs cleaning is a relatively small fix. We'll tell you plainly what we're seeing before doing any work.
Sometimes, yes - if the key itself is in good shape, a cylinder cleaning or service can resolve it without cutting anything new.
